About ACD

Accessible Communication for the Deaf (ACD) is a full-service sign language interpreter referral agency that began operations in southern Florida in 2003.  Six years later, ACD-West was established in the Tampa Bay area.  Once the second ACD location was established, the company was able to cover a much wider area, and began serving consumers throughout Florida and Georgia.

With the opening of ACD-West came the addition of video remote interpreting services (VRI).  Both offices are equipped with video centers enabling ACD to handle a greater volume of VRI call requests.
The company has developed a stellar reputation and the ACD name has become synonymous with quality.  Clients and consumers have come to trust that ACD will provide highly qualified interpreters, while consistently demonstrating excellence in customer service.  ACD is interpreter-owned and operated.

Working with deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals can be challenging, as the DHOH community has its own unique language and culture. ACD interpreters are adept at eliminating communication barriers and encouraging a “deaf-friendly” environment where everyone has a positive experience.   They are among the most talented and motivated individuals in the field. Interpreters working with ACD meet or exceed professional qualification and/or certification standards.
